Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year...

Hello :)

So, its almost 2018 (how has the year gone so quickly?) and I thought I'd talk about what's been going on these past few weeks, as well as an overview of 2017!

This year has been such a rollercoaster of events, with finishing my final year at university and all that entailed, i.e. dissertation, starting to play at gigs, graduating, getting a job, finding love and lots and lots of gigs...did I mention that?

I have been so lucky to have some wonderful people around me who, without, I don't know where I'd be right now! This year I've been encouraged to take what I love further, taking part in the Open Mic events at The Sow and Pigs and The Three Horseshoes in West Brom, The Pilot in Wolverhampton, No Covers Club in B'ham and Brains for Breakfast show in Penkridge! What a year! A huge thank you to every single person who's been a part of it :)

My final year at Uni was a tough but wonderful one, with organising a final dissertation project alongside other assignments, but we all did it and I was so proud to graduate alongside some brilliant, lovely and talented people I am lucky enough to call friends!

Since graduation in September, I have found a job I love, teaching keyboards at Rox Music Academy in Halesowen and I'm looking forward to more lessons next year. And I've met one very special person in my life... Sean, thank you for all you've done over these few short months we've known each other, I can't wait for more adventures next year! <3

Also... last week a few of us braved the snow to go to The Three Horseshoes Open Mic again for the final Xmas show of the year, it was a brill night full of local musicians and lots of talent! I got to play again too, thank you to Ben for putting on these events this year (also get better soon)

Saw the Christmas Hootenanny hosted by David Young and The Midnight Chorus on 15th Dec, what an event that was. Bradleigh Aston, Brains for Breakfast, Flatline Stereo and David Young and The Midnight Chorus were all amazing and, though a few of us were ill, it got the whole place up and dancing :)

Pörk's End of Year Gig was great too!! I have so many talented people around me, I'm so fortunate :)

So, to finish off this final blog of the year, all thats left for me to say is that, I just wanted to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year! I hope you all have a lovely time and stay safe! See you all in the New Year,

lots of love,

Em :) x
